Ambience : Noisy, like any other Kedai Kopi
Food Taste : 8 / 10
Waiting Time : Fast
Price : Moderate
My mom loves to eat the salted egg yolk bitter-gourd that was cooked by Ching Fah Restaurant. So tonight we went there again.
Aside from that dish, we also ordered:-
Deep fried cuttlefish. Crunchy outside and the flour is flavourful. The chewiness of the cuttlefish is just right. I love to eat this with the mixture of chilli sauce and mayonnaise.
The next dish which is also my favourite is this steam tauhu. The main ingredient for this gravy is soy sauce. You must ordered this. The tauhu is smooth and silky.
We brought fish for them to steam. They restaurant is good in steaming this fish. The fish is not overcooked and the sauce real savory. Fresh fish that steamed just right = Thumb up.
We also ordered the pork. Although this pork was quite fatty, the dish is good. If you love to eat pork, try to order this dish.

Tea Time Cafe in karamunsing
Ambience : comfortable and slightly noisy
Food Taste : 7 / 10
Waiting Time : Fast
Price : Moderate
The food tasted quite good and the price is reasonable.
This cucur vegetable was crunchy. I love to have this a lot and saw many tables ordered this. It cost only RM1.50 per big piece. I could not stop munching this.
I ordered the mix fish ball noddles. The soup is flavourful, with tomatoes and salty veggie. The fish balls and paste tasted quite good. However, I dun really favour their kon lau mee. They used light soy sauce and garlic oil to mix it. The noodles were slightly soggy to me.
The eatery also served nasi campur. The taste of their dish were flavourful especially the brinjal. 2 veggies and some chicken only cost RM6.00.
I definitely come back for more.
Bak Kut Teh (Meat Bone Tea)
My SIL wanted to cook Bak Kut Teh, my bro's favourite. We requested it to be slightly spicy (Sabah Style).
She first blanche the meat, like the way she did the pig trotter. After that, she boiled garlic and the packet of Bak Kut Teh herbs. After half hour, she put in the meat into the soup and also insert lots of black peppers, some dark soy sauce and light soy sauce, to taste. let it boiled for 2 hours and served.

Lunch at Lucy's Kitchen, Secret Recipe, KFC and RCH
I also went to a few Halal and serve no pork restaurant for lunch.
1) Lucy's Kitchen at 88 Marketplace
I read a few blogs about this cafe. Heard at they served a very delicious food and good dessert. So I gave it a try.
I ordered the lamb with rice. Nothing to shout about actually. The lamb were tender. However, I can get such dish at a bigger portion in other place.
I also ordered the durian pancake. I heard it is a hit in that cafe. It was indeed very yummy. I can eat the cold, sweet flesh. The pancake's thickness is just right. I reckon you must get this although the price is slightly high.
2) Secret Recipe at Citymall
It has been ages since I eaten in Secret Recipe. So I took the chance last week to have lunch there. Although the it was famous for its cakes and pastries, we did not order those.
The first dish was the spring roll. Crispy outside, juicy inside. Savory taste just good for me. The portion was too little for me though.
Next came the Laksa Singapore. Since I did not eat it, I do not know the taste. However, it was mixed with santan which is not suppose to, according to my sis inlaw. The serving looked big though and she said the taste was ok.
Mine, the grilled chicken chop with rice. I love my food. The rice was very fragrant, the corn was sweet and not too soft. The chicken was tender and I love the thigh part. I love chicken with mushroom sauce. Definitely coming back for more.
3) Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) at Karamunsing
I am craving for fast food the other day. Thus, my friend and I decided to head to KFC for lunch. I ordered the dish with rice. Had the mixture of both original and hot & spicy chicken. I requested the drumstick and thigh. Yummy. The rice was tasty, butter-ry taste. I do not like the soup though, too much MSG and the chicken ball are not springy. I like springy balls.
4) RCH at Karamunsing
I had a take-away with my friend from RCH. I ordered lemon chicken. The chicken were fried with flour and the outer part were crispy and inside were tender. The gravy were sour and sweet, the tangy taste really good when mix with chicken and the fragrant rice. They also serve some pickled with it. The chilly sauce also good. Not too hot. I love this dish a lot.

Non-Halal Lunch at Foh Chuan, Xiang2 Pan Mien & Chub Grill
1) Foh Chuan at Bundusan, Penampang.
This restaurant is very famous for their stir fried choy sum, ham choy, roast meat and other dishes. My mom suggested me to try for the Ham Choy Mee Hoon (Stir Fried Vermicelli with salted veggie). We order RM10 and sufficient for 3 ladies. It has generous amount of tauhu, salted veggie and meat (roasted meat and sitr fried meat).
It was super delicious. Taste sour-sweet and has the slight saltiness. Roast meat were crunchy and not fatty. The noodles has the pork lard taste. they might be cooking it with pork lard. Yummy to the MAX!!
We also ordered kon lau meehoon kosong (Vermicelli mix with soy sauce) only at RM2. The meehoon were not only mix with soy sauce but also pork lard. This was tasty. I can finish the whole plate without any meat. Just the noodle itself is good enough.
2) Xiang Xiang Pan Mien, Damai
This restaurant selling flat flour noodles. They let us choose three kind of noodles; flat shape, round shape and hand-pulled shape. Those noodles can be cooked in a soup broth or in a dried sauce (kon lau).
I ordered the flat shape in soup broth. It was served with deep fried anchovies, minced pork, mushrooms, sayur manis and deep fried wan tan. The soup was tasty, it had slight saltiness. I put in some lime and it had slight sour-vary taste. The mixture of the meat and veggie were delicious and crunchy while the noodles are not springy.
I also ordered a leafy juice (xiao mai chau). Very refreshing and cooling.
3) Chub Grill, Karamunsing Capital
This restaurant are famous for its grilled food. I always loved their grilled chicken and lamb. The meat is marinated well, it is juicy, tender and one can taste the marinate even to the bone ..... slurp :P
I ordered the chicken while my friend order pork. Both meat are up to my expectation. However, the side dishes are nothing to shout about.
Definitely come back for more!
